BIBTF & BIWF PRAYER DAY 2010

On Saturday 25 September the British Israel Bible Truth Fellowship (BIBTF)
joined with the British Israel World Federation (BIWF) to commit to a day
of prayer for the nation and the Israel peoples scattered around the world.

A special gathering was held at the Elim Free Bible Pattern Church, Edward Street, Carlisle. Many travelled long distances, including Pastor Ken Whittaker from Worthing who represented the Covenant Peoples Fellowship. Others unable to attend prayed at home or in local meetings held on the day.

Pastor Robert Phillips (a BIBTF Trustee) welcomed those present on behalf of the local church, noting it was an honour to host the joint prayer day services, which coincided with their own Anniversary Services.

Mr Alfred Brown [a BIWF board member] opened the morning session [led by BIBTF Secretary Mr Paul Boyd-Lee] by laying out 'The Importance of Prayer'.

The afternoon session [led by BIWF board member - Mr Peter Bennett] was guided by [BIBTF President] Dr Michael Bennett's thoughts on 'Prayer for God's People Israel'.

The day was supported in spirit by messages of encouragement and prayer requests, from supporters around the world which were read out.

Many contributed to the prayers which centred around:

'Our relationship with God'
'Personal and national repentance'
'Her Majesty the Queen, National and Civic leaders'
'Christian Witness in the UK'
'Thanking God for His covenants with Israel'
'Preparing ourselves for greater service and confidence in the Lord.'

Throughout our time spent together the worship was uplifting, the singing was buoyant, and a good time of spiritual refreshment and friendship was enjoyed by all.

Between and after the prayer sessions a team of ladies led by Mrs Lynn Phillips did an magnificent job in the downstairs hall to provide a delightful choice of lunch and tea menus, on beautifully laid tables which all added greatly to our enjoyment, and was greatly appreciated as the tea-time applause for all their care and kindness showed.

In the words of Pastor Ken Whittaker: 'We now await God's honouring of the faithful, and look towards the result of His work amongst His people.'

N.B. Joint Prayer Day will be on 24 September in 2011 (D.V.). Please note this date in your diary and watch this web site for an announcement of further details.
