ANNUAL MAY AGM AND CONVENTION 2011

The 37th Annual General Meeting of the British Israel Bible Truth
Fellowship was held at Orange Street, Congregation Church at noon on
Saturday 14 May 2011, chaired by the President (Dr Michael Bennett).

The meeting was opened in prayer by Mr Brian Davies (from Leeds) and the Chairman read Revelation 19: 5-16. In a world of trouble and turmoil where men seek peace and hope, we stand on the promises and covenants of the Bible with our lives hid with Jesus Christ in God and linked to His resurrection power. Our needs are met from an immeasurable supply given with love.

The business agenda was completed in a smooth and friendly manner and thanks were expressed to all those who contribute to the ministry of the Fellowship. The meeting concluded with the Aaronic blessing. Members and friends moved to the crypt to enjoy fellowship while enjoying a free buffet lunch.

Hymn Singing in the afternoon   Dr David Allen with Paul Boyd-Lee in the crypt

The afternoon convention was chaired by Mr Paul Boyd-Lee (BIBTF Secretary). It was a pleasure to welcome as the guest speaker Dr David Allen from the Trinitarian Bible Society who gave two excellent lectures separated by hearty hymn singing. The first was entitled 'History of the English Speaking Bible up to 1611 – The Climax of the Reformation' and the second 'The Authorised Version, the Safeguard of the Gospel'.

These topics were most timely as 2011 saw the 400 Anniversary of the publication of the King James Authorised Version of the Bible (which we still use and love) in 1611. The latter talk included a telling focus on Jesus' question to the Pharisees 'What think ye of Christ? whose son is he?' showing how many later versions of the Bible are found wanting in their treatment of key words which are foundational to a full and correct answer.

The day concluded with a buffet tea in the crypt as the highlights of the day were discussed before going home.

Members and friends are warmly invited and encouraged to attend the upcoming meeting at Orange Street on 12 October 2011 for our Thanksgiving Bible Convention. It may be costly in time and fares but it is highly beneficial to encourage others by swelling the crowd to support the witness and to enjoy fellowship in person with others of like mind who like Bible truth. Please put the date in your diary and please pray for God's blessing on the gathering.

God willing we look forward to meeting again at Orange Street on 12 October 2011 for our Thankgiving Bible convention. Please put this date in your diary now and pray for God’s blessing on it.
