 ANNUAL GENERAL CONVENTION 2009

The 35th BIBTF Annual General Meeting and Bible Teaching Service
were held at Orange Street Congregational Church in London on
 Saturday, 2nd May 2009.

Getting to the church was not helped as the entrance to Orange Street from Haymarket was shut to all traffic on the day! Despite such difficulties we were delighted that about 50 people managed to attend the days programme.

The 35th BIBTF Annual General Meeting was held at noon and this business session was concluded in just over an hour. The Chairman’s Introduction and the Secretaries Report are available in Bible Truth Magazine 255.

It was hoped to present a testimonial scroll to Linda Minchin to be taken to her father (Bill Minchin). In the event this was not possible but Bill’s long service was formally noted at the AGM, and Derek Gash (a BIBTF Vice-President - pictured left) was appointed to present the scroll to Bill at his home. This was later duely accomplished … click here to find out more.

Over 40 friends and supporters enjoyed fellowship together and a free buffet lunch held in the crypt where a wide range of Bible literature was also available from the bookstall during the day.

The afternoon service (2:15 - 4:15 pm) held in the Main Church was led by BIBTF Secretary Paul Boyd-Lee. Pastor Robert Phillips (from Carlisle) preached on ‘God in the Twighlight Zone’ linked to the text ‘the light shall not be clear nor dark … not day nor night’ from Zechariah 14: 6-7.

Pastor Phillips further enlivened the proceedings by singing a new hymn which he had just written and composed which was an added blessing.

The spiritual menu was rounded off by Mr David McLure (from Glasgow) whose subject was ‘Israel’s Saviour, Redeemer and Friend’. His address emphasized the essential indivisible links between these fundamenta truths and titles which British Israelite do hold and share with other Christians.

The services concluded with the Aaronic blessing and was followed by more fellowship over tea served in the crypt. Our thanks go to all who supported the day and encouraged others.

Numbers 6: 23-27
‘… On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.’

God willing we look forward to meeting again at Orange Street on 10 Oct 2009. Please put this date in your diary now if you plan or hope to come. Please pray for God’s blessing on the day, and please try and bring a friend. If everyone brought a friend we would have 100!
